- What is your education level? I am currently enrolled in a Ph.D. history program. I have a B.A. in history as well.
- How have you been editing? I have been editing since 2007.
- How do you edit? I edit using Microsoft Word's Track Changes.
- What is your turnaround time? Turnaround time is affected by the length of the manuscript, the extent of editing needed (ex. light, line, or substantive), and/or whether or not anyone else has previously edited the work. I want to give your work the attention it needs. While I have your work, I will go through and edit the project two times. The first time is to edit your work, and the second time will be to make sure everything is correct.
- What is your rate? My rate is $25 per hour. For rush orders*, my rate is $35 per hour. You can e-mail me a few pages of your work, at no charge, so that I can estimate how long I think the job will take.
- Are there any required upfront fees? Yes. I require that you pay 50% of the quoted price as a deposit before the work begins. You will pay the remaining balance once I am done editing.
- What is the best way to contact you? The best way to contact me is through e-mail: info@thewritepolish.com. I check e-mail regularly during traditional business hours (Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm), and sporadically after 5pm, weekends, and holidays. I accept submissions 24 hours per day and 7 days a week.
- Do you work with projects that are not in English? Sorry, I only edit projects written in English. I welcome clients whose second (or third!) language is English.
- Can I pay you in a foreign currency? No, I only accept payments in USD. My prices are listed in USD.
- How can I pay you? I accept Paypal for all deposits and payments. I will also accept checks, money orders, or cashier's checks. Please note that I will not begin editing until the check has cleared with my bank. If you pay with PayPal, I will add PayPal's transaction fee to your quoted price.
*Rush orders are orders that are to be returned in a week. Rush orders must be 100 pages or less.
